The newspaper will be informative and carry a wide variety of features on the local community, celebrations, sport, music, projects etc in each country.
In producing a newspaper pupils will not only explore journalism, complete research and practise literacy and ICT skills they will be creative in their thinking and mindful of the readers in different European countries. On the completion for the newspaper each school will produce a TV news video which will be collated and shared with all pupils, staff, parents and wider communities through our school websites. The common outcome will be two newspapers and consequently a European Language Survival Kit, written initially in our own language and then in English, promoting the use of early language learning and key competences. We intend to give children the opportunity to make friends in Europe, learn about each other’s cultures and languages and improve ICT skills.
